OEC (Ordre des Experts-Comptables) Exam

Core System: Issued by Ordre des Experts-Comptables (OEC), France’s only official accounting certification body under the Ministry of Justice.

Eligibility Requirements:

Requirement Details
Education 3+ years of higher education after high school + 4 years of theoretical training (business law, tax law, financial accounting, corporate governance)
Exams Three-tier exams (basic, intermediate, advanced) covering business law, economics, accounting principles, company law, tax law
Internship 3-year full-time internship (2 years in accounting firms, 1 year in companies), with quarterly reports under a registered mentor
Language French fluency required (TCF/TEF or equivalent French language test)
Fees Approx. €1,500–€3,000 (exam fees + internship costs)
Registration Process:

Complete 4-year theoretical education and register for three-tier exams (basic→intermediate→advanced);
Apply for internship after passing basic exam, sign agreement with OEC-registered firm;
Submit internship proof to OEC for verification;
Pass national unified exam (written + oral);
Apply for Expert-Comptable status upon passing.
