Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Canada)
Core System: CPA Canada (formed in 2014 by merging CGA and CICA) is the only national accounting body in Canada.
Exam Structure:
Phase 1: CAP (Chartered Professional Accountant) Exam (4 subjects)
Phase 2: PDP (Professional Development Program) (2-3 years work experience required)

Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business (or equivalent); must pass CPA Canada’s Education Assessment (international degrees require certification).
Experience 2 years of accounting-related work experience (verified by CPA regulator).
Language English/French fluency (exam in English; French required in Quebec).
Fees CAP exam: ~$2,920 CAD (2023); PDP fees extra.
Registration Process:
Create account at CPA Canada;
Submit education assessment + work experience pre-review;
Pay fees and select exam date/location (Pearson VUE centers);
Complete CAP exam → apply for PDP → accumulate work experience;
Pass PDP → receive CPA license (recognized provincially, e.g., CPA Ontario).
